The Design Guidelines apply to all forms of development including residential, co mmercial and mixed use developments throughout the Town. The Design Guidelines seek high quality designs that respond sensitively to their context and respect current and/or future desired character of the area. A performance approach is taken in the Design Guidelines where the emphasis is upon requiring the design to ‘perform’ by satisfying desired outcomes rather than by meeting a fixed set of standards.
